A CE Event Like No Otter

Every year we host an appreciation and continuing education event for the veterinary community. This year, we wanted to make a big splash with our event – and what better place to have it than at the Seattle Aquarium! On Sunday, October 11, 2015, veterinarians and support staff from area clinics were invited, with their families, to spend the day learning and having fun at our “CE Event Like No Otter” Appreciation Event.

Veterinary professionals attended CE seminars including “Breathless in Seattle” presented by Animal Surgical’s Dr. Kristin Kirkby Shaw, and “The Why and How of Acute Pain Control” presented by guest speaker Dr. James Gaynor. This year we also included a designated Tech Track for veterinary technicians, which included presentations on “Chemo Safety” by Renee Neideigh, LVT, VTS (Oncology) and “Bandaging and Wound Care for Success” by Katie Mazuti, LVT.

During the CE sessions, non-veterinary guests explored fun exhibits such as the Giant Pacific Octopus, Life on the Edge, River Otters, Harbor Seals, and the Underwater Marine Mammal Viewing, to name a few. We wrapped up the day with a Party on the Pier where all of our guests were able to relax and enjoy the view. Our event was a huge success, and we had a wonderful time meeting and reconnecting with the wonderful Seattle veterinary community.
