OctoberVets: Annual Appreciation and CE Event at the Woodland Park Zoo

Each year, we team up with the Animal Medical Center of Seattle, to host an appreciation and CE event at the Woodland Park Zoo!

The day-long event is free for local veterinarians and technicians and it provides continuing education on a variety of subjects, from What’s New in Dentistry, given by Dr. Diane Carle of AMCS, to Balance and Bridged-Using rehabilitation medicine across the species divide, by Dr. Kristin Shaw and Dr. Cynthia Knapp of SOUND Veterinary Rehabilitation Center. It was so interesting to see the footage of geriatric penguins receiving acupuncture to improve their mobility, and of Yukiko, the 13 year old red panda, working out on a balance ball!

We also provided a delicious lunch, a happy hour at the end of the sessions, complete with beer and soft pretzels and German music. And, as usual, full access to peruse all of the wonderful animal exhibits at the Woodland Park Zoo.

We look forward to spoiling our colleagues in the veterinary community every year!
